The International Journal of Terrestrial Heat Flow and Applied Geothermics (IJTHFA) provides a forum for publication of results of high-quality research work dealing with recent advances in field measurement of terrestrial heat flow, regional and global geothermal data analysis, model studies of heat transfer in the Earth's interior and practical applications of geothermal studies.
The focus is on publication of new experimental and theoretical works on crustal temperatures, geothermal gradients, thermal properties of geologic materials, radiogenic heat production, magma interactions at shallow and deep crustal levels, thermo-tectonic processes affecting continental and oceanic crust, uplift and subsidence, thermal models of crust and lithosphere and studies on structure and evolution of planetary interiors.
Also welcome are new works in applied geothermics, with focus on assessments of near surface geothermal manifestations, heat transfer by groundwater flows, thermal maturation of hydrocarbons, climate history, geothermal aspects of mining and engineering and recent advances in instrumentation for geothermal studies.
The journal now has indexing provided by ISI. The impact factor is 0.536.
Those who wish to submit manuscripts for the next issue should do so before the end of this year (2019).
Starting with the next issue, scheduled for April 2020, a new session on short communications will be added for publication of updates of Regional Heat Flow data sets.
